Texas synagogue attack: 2 suspects arrested in Manchester

 Two people were arrested in connection with investigations into an attack at an Texas synagogue that saw a gunman hold four hostages.

Malik Faisal Akram, 44 of Blackburn within Lancashire, was shot to death by the FBI after a 10 hour standoff within the US on the 15th of January. Greater Manchester Police said two men were detained within Manchester earlier. Two more men who were arrested at Birmingham as well as Manchester on January 20 have been released without further decision. The force stated that agents from Counter Terrorism Policing North West are continuing their investigation and were in close contact together with US authorities. In the standoff, Akram was heard calling for that the government release Aafia Siddiqui who is who is a Pakistani neuroscientist, who is being held for 86 years in the nearby city of Fort Worth, Texas, for attempting to murder US military personnel in Afghanistan. Siddiqui has dissociated herself from her actions by releasing a statement through an attorney.
